ICU Advanced Practice Clinician

Under the general supervision of a physician, the ICU Advanced Practice Clinician is responsible for providing varied medical services, including: obtaining complete medical history and performing a physical examination; ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and imaging studies; formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan; prescribing and/or dispensing medication; assist/perform invasive procedures; counseling patients and families. Integrates education, research and management, leadership and consultation into clinical role and functions in collegial relationships with nursing, physicians, professionals and others who influence the health care environment. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Current certification in ACLS required. Current certification in ANCC, AANP, NCCPA or equivalent required. 2-4 years' experience in critical care. Good interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work with detailed, confidential material, computer experience required.
